Metal work and body
preparation. The firewall shows sign of a previous
accident. The firewall was straightened and the cracks
welded. Afterwards a reinforcing plate was riveted to the
backside where it will be hidden by the gas tank but will add much
needed strength in the area.
The
body was sprayed with epoxy primer and then dents were either bumped
out using a hammer & dolly, or a shrinking disc.
The
bottom set of pictures show how the original fenders were correctly
repaired following inferior collision repair probably done in the
1940s.
